This trip to Salkantay is as challenging as the Inca trail of 4 days and 3 nights. The landscape is incredibly beautiful, as we reach up to 4600 masl in a 3 km flat, with a view to the jungle where we start to descend. We come to the low jungle and we can see different plantations of coffee, bananas and other fruit trees. We continue our trip to the city of Machu Picchu. We leave Cusco about 3:30 to 5:00. A bus takes us to Mollepata (2900 meters above sea level) where we arrive at 8:00 in the morning, we stop at the last minute to use the toilets. We continue to our starting point, Soraypampa (3850 meters above sea level). We meet with our support staff, and they will load the equipment on horses and mules. Around 9:00 we will begin our trip to Humantay Lake. On the way we will have a beautiful view of the majestic Salkantay, other mountains covered in snow and the valley of the Apurimac River. at 1:00, we will have a Peruvian lunch in a place called Salkantay Pampa. After lunch we will walk to our first campsite, Soyrococha, where we will also have dinner.

(walk 10 hours) Today, nature will change drastically from arid landscapes to snow-capped peaks and tropical areas. After a hearty breakfast, we start the most difficult part of the walk. We start the hike around 8:00 in the morning. We will walk for about an hour and a half, gradually ascending, until we reach the highest point (4600 meters above sea level). We will appreciate the spectacular views of the mountains and the impressive snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6264 meters above sea level) which is known as the second highest point in the Cusco region. On the way down we will visit the wonderful intense blue Salkantay Lake. Around 12:30 we will have our lunch, in the Huayra Mackay area. After a walk of about 3 hours, we arrived at our camp in Challway (2920 meters above sea level). Around 7:00, we will return from the trip and have dinner.

At 7:00 we will start our trip and we will enjoy the beautiful sunrise. We will walk for about 5 hours towards Playa Sahuayo and during this period; We will observe a town called Collpabamba, also called Forest Cloudy Brow where waterfalls, fruit-bearing trees, varied flora and birds can be observed. If we are lucky, we will be able to observe the famous bird called «Rock of the Rocks». Once in Playa Sahuayo, we have lunch Overnight at a hotel in Aguas Calientes village (2000 meters above sea level). Here you have the opportunity to go to thermal hot springs. We have dinner at 19:00.

An early start to get up to Machu Picchu when the sun rises, a walk of approx. 1.5 h. There will be a guided tour inside Machu Picchu of approx. 2 h. There we will visit most of the most important ruins. In the afternoon we take the train back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Flights from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (jungle) Transport from the airport to the boat that takes us down the river Madre de Dios about 2h, until we arrive at the lodge where we will spend the next few days. Lunch It will be a walk to Choche Caiman, a small pond, where we can see caimans and many bird species. In the evening it is possible to join a small boat trip to look for caimans and other animals that live along the riverbank. The lodge is of a nice standard with a private bathroom in each cottage.

After breakfast there will be a walk to Lago apu Victor. Here we will be able to see different bird species, turtles and if we are lucky we can see giant otters. Back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, the trip goes out to the monkey island to see several different monkeys. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Today we will paddle through a beautiful swamp area where we will see many different birds, butterflies, turtles and if we are lucky we will spot the anaconda. We walk through the jungle on the way back where we see the jungle's giant trees and many beautiful flowers. (walk about 5km) Lunch In the afternoon there is free time to enjoy the swimming pool or lie in the hammocks by the river bank.
